From chapped lips and cracked cuticles to dry, flaky skin; cold winter weather can wreak havoc on your skin. Revive your winter skincare routine and maintain a dewy glow all year long with these quick and easy beauty solutions.
FACE: MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE
Dry skin needs extra moisture. Opt for a rich hydrating face cream instead of a lotion, for added protection. Apply moisturizer to clean, slightly damp skin within 1 to 2 minutes of washing your face; it helps to lock in moisture.
HAND THERAPY
You know it’s winter when your cuticles start cracking and your hands begin to resemble the texture of sandpaper. Ouch!  Choose a gentle hand soap when washing your hands and apply hand cream directly after, paying close attention to your knuckles and cuticles.  Look for ingredients like Coconut Oil and Shea Butter.  Both are great for the skin and help to provide all day hydration.  Added Tip: Use a hand cream with a pump dispenser for easy access, and leave it by the sink or at work for constant re-application.  Simply pump and massage.
SOFT LIPS
During the cold, windy months of winter, your lips need a little extra TLC to prevent them from becoming dry, chapped + cracked.  For soft, smooth lips, exfoliate once a week with a homemade blend of coconut oil and sugar.  Gently apply with your finger and rinse with warm water.  Apply a lip balm several times throughout the day to help prevent moisture loss. Ran out of lip balm? Try extra virgin olive oil; it’s loaded with vitamins and antioxidants and is an excellent moisturizer.
NATURAL RELIEF FOR DRY SKIN
For super smooth skin, try applying unrefined organic coconut oil all over the body; immediately after bathing, to partially dry skin.  Coconut oil is not only ideal for cooking, but makes a fabulous body oil for dry skin.  It has a fresh coconut fragrance and is incredibly luscious and soothing to the skin.
Added Tip: While bathing, cleanse your skin with a creamy moisture rich body wash for added hydration.
