Lather Up!
Would you use the same towel for months without ever washing it? Hopefully, your answer is No! Then, you wouldn't want to wipe your face everyday with a dirty makeup brush - right?! If you can’t remember the last time you washed your brushes – trust me, they are in desperate need of a good lather!
Ideally, you should be washing your brushes and sponges once a week with a gentle cleanser to help maintain healthy skin + prolong the life of your beauty products.  Here’s how:

MAKEUP BRUSHES
*Wet the hair with lots of warm water. Be careful not to get the handle wet; as it could loosen the clasp.
*Place a small amount of a gentle natural cleanser (or try the Ultimate DIY Makeup Brush Cleanser) into a bowl; place the brush into the bowl and lather it up by swirling the brush around in a circular motion until clean.
* Then, rinse under cool water, till the water runs clear.
*Gently squeeze the water from the brush and lay it to dry on a towel.  Make sure the hair part is hanging over the edge of a table so that the hair doesn’t dry flat + maintains it’s original shape and fullness.
*Repeat for each brush

MAKEUP SPONGES
*Sponges should be cleaned at least once a week with a gentle natural cleanser; and every day, if you have oily or acne-prone skin.
*Don’t forget about the sponges that come with your pressed powders; clean them weekly as well.
*Replace your sponges anywhere from 1 to 3 months or when it looses it’s firmness or begins to crack.
*Your basic drug store wedge sponges are really meant for one-time to one-week use – toss after application.

EYELASH CURLER
*Don’t forget to clean your eyelash curler; you use it everyday + it’s in direct contact with your eye.
*For the perfect curl, wipe down the pad every week with a cotton pad and a small amount of alcohol.
*Don’t forget to replace the pads every 1 to 3 months or when the pad begins to crack.

And, that's it! Happy clean makeup brushes = Happy healthy skin!
Xo,
Sandy

P.S. How cute is the pink polka dot makeup bag! You won't believe where I got it...Walmart! And, for only $9!! I love a good deal and anything pretty in pink, of course.
