Do you suffer from frequent headaches and struggle to find an effective treatment? Try Peppermint Oil, it comes from the herb Mentha piperita and contains menthol, which has analgesic and anaesthetic properties that when applied topically can help to relieve pressure and pain. It also has a nice refreshing and cooling sensation on the skin, which can have a calming effect on the body. Combine 1 drop of Peppermint essential oil with 1 tsp of a carrier oil like Jojoba or Coconut oil and apply. Gently massage onto temples and forehead. Find a quite, comfortable space to sit down and relax. Dim the lights – as bright lights can actually make a headache feel worse.

TEMPLES - Place the headache massage oil onto your fingertips and begin applying it to your temples.  Your temples are located between the outer corner of your eye and the top of your ear. Gently massage that area with small circular motions for about 20 seconds. You can close your eyes while doing this to help increase relaxation.
FOREHEAD - Move your fingertips up towards your forehead, by gently massaging in small circular movements all the way up along the hairline till your fingers meet in the middle of the forehead.
SCALP MASSAGE – A scalp massage is another great way to help relieve pressure.  Start at the top of the back of your neck – and move with small circular motions all the way up to the top of the head.
LEMON WATER – Stay hydrated. Finish with a tall glass of lemon water to help wash away the toxins released by the massage.
**If you are pregnant, have a health condition or are taking any medications – consult a health care professional first, prior to using essential oils.

**Peppermint oil is a stimulant – so it’s better to use it earlier in the day, as it could interfere with your sleep.
